Project Partners’ Online Coordination Meeting 2025

In the digital age, online hate poses a serious threat to young people, especially those living in unstable and conflict-ridden environments.

The DAAD-funded project “Together Against Online Hate: Prevention and Intervention Strategies for Youth” aims to combat online aggression. In collaboration with colleagues from Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Ukraine, tools for conflict prevention and resolution are being developed and tested. Building on previous research, the project focuses on implementing effective prevention and intervention strategies specifically tailored to the needs and challenges faced by young people.

The project is being implemented in collaboration with international partners. Among them is Dr. Prof. Svetlana Khadzhiradieva (State University of Intellectual Technologies and Telecommunications, Ukraine), who coordinates work with other Ukrainian partners: Izmail State University of Humanities and the K. D. Ushinsky South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University. The project team also includes Zhyldyz Doolbekova (Ph.D. in History) and Almagul Osmonova from the “Taalim-Forum” Public Foundation (Kyrgyzstan), as well as Svetlana Khara (Free International University, Moldova).

In August 2025, a summer school will be held at the University of Hamburg as part of the project. It will serve as a platform for discussing pressing issues related to combating online hate. Over the course of the week, participants will be able to take part in seminars, lectures, and workshops aimed at deepening scientific knowledge and developing practical solutions to the problems young people face in the digital space. Our common goal is to raise awareness of the threats posed by cyberhate and to provide young people with effective tools to prevent it.
